I am currently the head of Business & Language Analytics (BLA) group at IIC-Knowledge Engineering Institute (Madrid, Spain). Our work is focused on providing solutions that analyse individual and social human behaviour for transforming data into business value by means of state-of-the-art technologies such as Natural Language Processing, Social Network Analysis, and Machine Learning. Besides that, I collaborate with the Department of Computer Science of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), from which I received a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2006, teaching master courses on data science and ubiquitous computing.

My professional background is centered around the development and management of projects with a strong research and innovation component. I am very passionate of computer and data science. I am convinced that the success of the modern societies, in general, and the organisations, in particular, lies largely in the transfer and democratisation of these technologies. I have been working on innovation projects for +14 years in several areas such as social networks, digital marketing, human resources, intelligent environments, mobile computing, technology-enhanced learning and assistive technologies.

I enjoy researching on technology-enhanced learning where I am actively collaborating into three educational projects: Blue Thinking, DEDOS and Clipit. Previously, I used to research on Human Computer Interaction and Ubiquitous Computing. Besides, I was founder member of the AmILab (Ambient Intelligence Laboratory) of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
